This is where the Pollyanna starts. Members bring in a wrapped turning, this year something with a lid, and, at random, the gifts are exchanged.
While we waited, Joe Seltzer entertained us with some lidded vessels from his collection. (Click on one of the pictures below to enlarge it, and hover your mouse for a caption. The ESC key will get you back to the blog.)
Here are few candid shots from the meeting: selecting tickets that represent the wrapped packages and the makers talking about their work.
There was quite a variety of lidded vessels as seen below. Jim Beckwith was the most creative in his definition of a lid: a hat or cap, as in Santa’s top hat! (Once again, you can click on an image to enlarge it. Clicking your mouse will advance to the next image.)
After the Pollyanna’s were exchanged, Bob Collins and Bryan Richardson ran the raffle. Three 2019 members’ names were pulled from the bowl for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes of $150, $75, and $25. The winners were Al McCarty, Bryan Richardson, and Mike Kehs! Congratulations to all!
